AUDEMARS MICROTEC NEW FACTORY GRAND OPENING CEREMONY Angkasa Nuri, 22th Jan 2024 A significant milestone occurred on January 22, 2024, as Audemars Microtec, a specialist in micro-technology and a leading supplier of precision micro-components, celebrated the grand opening of its new manufacturing facility in the Angkasa Nuri Industrial Area, Melaka. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Chief Minister of Melaka -YAB Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh; EXCO Science, Technology, Innovation And Digital Communication-YB Datuk Fairul Nizam Bin Roslan; Deputy EXCO Public Work, Infrastructure, Public Amenities And Transport Technology/ State Assembly Member for Durian Tunggal-YB Tuan Zahari Bin Abdul Kalil, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA)- Mr S. Sivasuriyamoorthy; Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Switzerland in Malaysia -Mr. Ralph A. Stamm; CEO of the Audemars Group-Dr. Mirko Audemars; COO of the Audemars Group- Mr. Brett McMillan; and President Of Swiss Malaysian Chamber Of Commerce (SMCC)- Mr Simon Fluck.
Covering a total area of 0.84 acres, Audemars’s new factory in Angkasa Nuri will specifically focus on the production of micro-coils and micro-magnets, contributing to the functionality of some of the smallest and most advanced implantable, interventional, and wearable medical devices globally. This new factory is anticipated to generate up to 200 local job opportunities at full production capacity.
For over 125 years, Audemars has been a proud supplier of precision microcomponents to leading medical device manufacturers worldwide. The microcomponents produced by Audemars, including those from the newly established Melaka factory, serve as crucial elements enabling the functionality of various small and sophisticated medical devices.
The Chief Minister of Melaka Hon. Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Bin Yusoh emphasized, “Audemars Microtec’s new site in Melaka is testament to the thriving business environment and economic opportunities that our state has to offer.
